Dear DAAD Alumni in South East Asia!

You are wanted as lecturers! In line with DAAD’s Motto “Change by Exchange”, DAAD in collaboration with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) established a “SEAMEO-DAAD Lecture Series” Programme to harness the expertise of DAAD alumni in the interest of education development in Southeast Asia. The SEAMEO-DAAD Lecture Series aims at strengthening the network of DAAD alumni in Southeast Asian countries. We have created a platform for alumni to not only share their expertise with scholars and students in the region, but also to promote social responsibility.

Through the “SEAMEO-DAAD Lecture Series” DAAD alumni are provided with an opportunity to voluntarily contribute their scientific knowledge and share it widely. Through this on-line-based lecture series participating students and teachers at Higher Education Institutions as well as Technical & Vocational Institutes in South East Asia can update their knowledge and get to know you as a scientist. For the first Pilot Phase between July 2016 and January 2017, we gathered eight alumni from five ASEAN countries and successfully conducted eight online lectures. We now open the program to all of you: The second Pilot Phase will be implemented now, starting in September 2017. All academic subject areas are welcome, especially highly technical content and topics that are of relevance for the region!

Please, sign up! You yourself decide who your audience should be, what kind of prior knowledge or degree level would be required. You will conduct your lectures through online platforms, specifically WebEx and YouTube. The medium of delivery for all lectures and training courses will be EnglishEach lecture is a single session lecture with a duration ranging from 1 to 3 hours. The presentations should be up-to-date and well researched. A typical format will usually involve a well-structured lecture and a discussion. You might request your participants to work on a simple assignment if they want to obtain a Certificate of Completion (optional). All courses under the programme will be delivered free of charge.

We are looking forward to your positive response and hope you will join our team. If you are interested, please kindly fill out the online registration form by 15 July 2017, at the latest. In case we get too many applications for a particular time slot or from a specific field, we might have to make a selection. We will inform you by 1 August 2017.
